The Court Jester
03:41
|
|||
Left these stuffy walls
To roam the misty mire
Searching for a heart to roast
On a splintered spire
Upon hearing a tantalizing tune
My loins flowed with viscous desire
Saw him fingering his lute
Quick was I to conspire...
"Pray teach me one of your magic tricks
I’ll introduce you to my hips
You can jig in my court any day
I yearn to hear your music play"
Possessed by your bronze bells jingling
I set off a tingling
Poked through your tunic
While you reposed for a bit
Found only amber spirits
And a mound of sanguine stone fruit pits
I lap the jester’s nectar
Of honeyed sweat and frothing surf
Eheu! Scurvy festers
in the chest of this lowly serf
Deluded visions of love
creep up in the dark
A pestilence
A cancer
A plague on the heart
"Hark! Don’t antagonize me
My sovereign passion sets fools free
It sweeps mountains and caverns deep
It forestalls death and tames the sea"
Peeked into his chasmal chest and saw
A still born heart laid raw
His lemming legs run
Off to other queendoms
I’ve heard he haunts bedchambers
Recall, you may have seen him...

Cuttyhunk Isle
04:17
|
|||
Upon Cuttyhunk Isle
Not a single automobile in sight
I’ll repose in the quiet
O how my weary heart delights !
Upon Cuttyhunk Isle
I’ll live out my days as a wanton maid
I’ll catch a fisherman’s eye
And at sunrise disappear with the tide
Snug in my cave
There's no comfort I crave
‘Cept the moaning of the waves
Unbeliever be warned
Hell itself’s not so warm
On your neck feel the breath
of the storm
Upon Cuttyhunk Isle
The sea barks rabid at my front door
It spits onto the floor as I snore
through the end of the world
Upon Cuttyhunk Isle
I’ll put up my feet and watch the days go by
I’m not afraid to die
Beneath black sky and red tide
Snug in my cave
No comfort I crave
‘Cept the moaning of the waves
Unbeliever be warned
Hell itself’s not so warm
On your neck feel the breath
of the storm
I wanna see what the gulls see
I wanna breathe what the fish breathe
Someday I will be queen
And I’ll never leave
Snug in my cave
There's no comfort I crave
‘Cept the moaning of the waves
Unbeliever be warned
Hell itself’s not so warm
On your neck feel the breath
of the storm

Diana
04:00
|
|||
Lust he follows virtue close
Through the steaming woodlands
His darkened blood through bulging veins
Through the steaming woodlands
Virtue knows he follows softly
Through the steaming woodlands
Travel light the deathly shudder
Down the leafy pathway
The dim light comes peering
Through the forest pines
And she knows by the sound of the baying
By the baying of the hounds
Diana Diana keep your feet up
Lust bears his teeth and whines
But he’s picked up the scent of virtue
And he knows the panic signs
Lust cries running with his eyes
The white clad figure fleeting
Mud burns his eyes desire burns his mind
Fear in her eyes as the forest grins
through the steaming woodlands
Lust now his soul destroyed with enmity disarmed
Diana Diana Diana Diana...
The dim light she comes peering through the forest pines
And she knows by the sound of the baying
By the baying of the hounds
Diana Diana kick your feet up
Lust bears his teeth and whines
For he’s picked up the scent of virtue
And he knows the panic signs

Rainbow Trout
03:27
|
|||
I remember swimming with you
Down in the blue hole
I remember saying to you
That we were getting too old
Like the rainbow trout
We wanted to get out
They sunk their hooks in me
I wanted to be free
I remember walking with you
Down on the red dust road
I remember praying with you
That we weren’t getting too old
I played guitar
And you played the harp
Up in the trees
I wanted to be free
I’ll never be your teenage dream
Although it might have seemed
You liked me more
As a girl of fourteen
I remember sitting with you
Down where the water is cold
Thankful that I found you
Together we will grow old
I will be a crone
Hewn out of stone
Covered in moss
The truth, but at what cost ?
I’ll never be your teenage dream
Although it might have seemed
You liked me more
As a girl of fourteen

Big Bog
03:13
|
|||
“What a lonely soul are you!”
So they tell me, and it’s true...
Need some time, some time to get away
Find a place, a quiet place to stay!
I never thought that such a crowded bog
Would be where I would die
Although it is kind of nice
To be stuck staring at the sky
No one will have to say my name
When they excavate my remains
In a thousand years
Find a final resting spot
Where my body starts to rot
Hair of straw and skin of leather
Buried with the springtime heather
I never thought that such a crowded bog
Would be where I would die
Although it is kind of nice
To be stuck staring at the sky
No one will have to say my name
When they excavate my remains
In a thousand years
As I watch the stars above
there is nothing left but love
I hold the hands that lie next to me
Untimely ends leave us all in peace

Lochness Lady
05:03
|
|||
The smell of her perfumed skin
Carried on the wind
Stronger than the strongest gin
The moor is cold and cruel
I’ll bear it just to bathe
In her moonlit pool
Where do you hide?
I’m calling out to you
Grace me with your smile
No one else will do
Through grot and gloom
My love will shine
Upon her silver hair
Anyone can see that
I need her more than air
Forever forever we shall lie
On beds of heather beneath the sky
For just a taste of her heart
Even God above
I would rip apart
Forget that other man
Who sought your hand
He swings from a branch
Why do you run away ?
We are meant to be !
Why do you scream,
sweet Lochness Lady ?
Through grot and gloom
My love will shine
Upon her silver hair
Anyone can see that
I need her more than air
Forever, forever in the mud
Mixing together seed and blood
I see now what is true
My love to you is refuse
Is there another man?
If I can’t have you no one can...

Big Bug
03:41
|
|||
Moved into a house hidden deep in the city
Took my problem to the insect committee
They said it was clean I found that hard to believe
Came home late last night what did I see?
Big bug
Crawling up my wall
Big bug
Makes you feel so small
Big bug
Slithers up my leg
Big bug
Burrow to lay your egg
Wasn't sure quite what I had to do
squashed that bug with the soul of my shoe
went to bed and i turned off the lights
but what did i feel in my sheets in the middle of the night ?
big bug
crawling up my leg
big bug
burrow to lay your egg
big bug
slithers up my wall
big bug
makes you feel so small
took my problem to the exterminator
he said he'd kill the bug sooner or later
house is clean my soul is feeling free
came home late last night what did I see ?
big rat
runs across my floor
big rat
be sure to lock your door
big rat
i see the devil in your eyes
big rat
i miss the spider and the flies
